David Pickard - Pastor

After marrying his young sweetheart Cheryl Pickard in 1982 and while expecting their first child, Bro David was saved when members of Pleasant Hill went to his house on regular church visitation. Jennifer was later shortly thereafter into a young Christian home. Joshua, their mighty warrior, would come along three years later in Conway, Arkansas while Bro David was in Bible college and Cheryl was working in a business office to support the family. In four more years while Bro David was serving as youth director in Carthage, Texas, there sweet Jessica graced their lives. It was an unexpected but exciting experience when the lord called them to return to there home church where everything Got started.

Brother David loves to study and preach, go on mission trips, hike, share the gospel and spend time with his family. He likes to witness, play games, eat exotic foods and go on adventures.

Brother David is a graduate of Blanchard High School in 1980 and played football for the 1979 Blanchard State Championship Team. He Received an Associate of Science in Business from Oklahoma City Community College in Oklahoma City; A Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas; and he graduated Magna Cum Lade with a Master of Arts in Religious Education from the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, TX.

Bro David has served as a youth pastor in Oklahoma and Texas from 1984 to 1993. He began pastoring in Texas and served as senior pastor in two churches there until he returned Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Pleasant Hill was the church through whose ministry he was saved and called into the gospel ministry. He has served as pastor now for 10 years from 1997 to the present. He currently Serves as Promotional Secretary of Missions for the Baptist Missionary Association of Central Oklahoma, and as President of the Baptist Missionary Association of Oklahoma.

Brother David has a vision of pastoring a church that plants other churches. He wants to lead his people to have a heartbeat for missions, evangelism and discipleship. He sees Pleasant Hill as being a missions sending center. The ministry statement would be, Pleasant Hill exists for the purpose of glorifying God by discipling church members to fulfill the great commission through the process of planting churches.
